Description
CJC-1295 with DAC is a modified version of GHRH — the signal that tells the pituitary gland to release growth hormone — with a chemical “anchor” attached that causes it to bind to albumin, the most abundant protein in blood. By hitching to albumin, the peptide is protected from breakdown and stays active for days rather than minutes. This dramatically extended duration makes it one of the most widely studied long-acting GH-stimulating compounds in research.
What the research has found
• A human phase 1/2 trial showed that a single subcutaneous injection of CJC-1295 with DAC produced 2–10 fold increases in average plasma GH levels and 1.5–3 fold increases in IGF-1, with effects sustained across 6 days from a single dose — the first demonstration of multi-day GH elevation from a single GHRH analogue in humans (Teichman et al., 2006)
• Animal studies directly comparing CJC-1295 with DAC to native GHRH confirmed the DAC modification extends biological half-life approximately 200 times, without meaningfully reducing receptor binding affinity or activity (Jetté et al., 2005)
• Research in rodent models documented the downstream consequences of sustained GH elevation — including increased lean body mass, decreased fat mass, and elevated anabolic metabolism markers (Teichman et al., 2006)
• Studies comparing the GH secretion profiles of the DAC and non-DAC variants confirmed a clear pharmacological distinction: the DAC variant produces sustained elevated GH while the non-DAC variant produces discrete pulses — giving researchers two distinct tools for studying continuous versus pulsatile GH secretion (Teichman et al., 2006)
